CONCORSO ITALIANO 2009 Laguna Seca Golf Course Salinas, California The Concorso Italiano showcases Italian automobiles from brands such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Maserati. The largest gathering of Ferrari 288 GTO's, what a beautiful sight! Award winnin...
The Quail Lodge 2009 Carmel, California Hello all! Here are a few more pics from the Quail Lodge event. Since I took all these pics, you know I went straight for the yellow cars! And I had to checkout the motorcycles! Aston Martin, Mercedes, BMW, Bugatti,...
I've been enjoying all your posts! I don't think I've even seen all the great photos yet! Looks like an amazing collection of cars was present at the event! I hope you had a wonderful time! Cheers, Daos
Their bikes were right next door to Automobili Lamborghini. I've heard of their bikes before but this is the first time I've seen it in person. Very cool and I'd like to know what Bernard thinks of them. -MW This message has been edited by DRMW on 2009-08...
Hi Ming, i see there are a lot of really exclusive cars. The Dino GT and the AlfaRomeo's are so unique. I've always been a sucker for the old60-70ies Italian cars like Lambo Miura & Jalpa, all the Tomaso's , some Ferrari's, The Lancia Stratos ..... There'...
Not only could I not own a bike with that name, I think I'd laugh too much at it. The workmanship is brilliant, but the design itself? Girder forks? Welcome to 1925..!
Yeah those Ferrari Dino are cool aren't they, is that your favorite F-car? Let me see if I have a larger logo pic for you. Thanks for the compliments! -MW
Those things are glorious. Complete aerodynamic fantasies (terrible aerodynamics, but wondrous construction) from when Bertone was clueless about aero, but at the height of its skills. The BAT 11 is a head-shaker, though. Pointless, unpowered and a undese...
Got some great news for your regarding Bertone. During the Lamborghini Club of America Welcome Dinner we had two great announcements, the first was the Balboni LP 550-2. The second was the wonderful news from BERTONE! We had the pleasure of meeting Nuccio...
My friend had a Bertone X1/9 with a 1500cc 85hp engine .... in the morning while driving to school we often encountered each-other ... no need to say the ride became pretty spectacular ... two 18-19 year old rookies trying to beat each-other ... . This X1...
i had an X19 when i was about 19 Filip. a sad and bad mistake. basically a rusty box with 2 seats in it :) i thought it was a cheap version of the TR7. the later coupe was much much better. if the worst in my life happens i'll be buying a 2 seater coupe o...
Hi Graham, i hope you're doing well despite all the misery .. :-( ... So you had an X1/9 in 1973, i can imagine it being a heap of rust and a bad engine ... My friend got his X1/9 in 1987 which had a Lancia 1500 cc engine. He managed about 100,000 km in 7...
i think you mean 1983! how old do i look :) it lasted about 5 months before it got traded for a ford Capri 1.6S in white with double black pin stripes. even if the worst happens all is not lost, i'm searching flats within 20 miles of my kids and they are ...
LOL ... 1983 indeed ... I remember those X1/9 didnt sell good ... but i liked it a lot. About the flat ... are you sure ? I think you'll miss the forest and peace ... can you buy a small house on/near the countryside easily in the UK ? Or ... is that too ...
Cellules Communistes Combatantes !!!!! I remember when my friend got this number plate we had quite a laugh ... typical for our small country ... why couldn't they leave those CCC-plates out ? Seems you have a lot to catch up with LUC !!! It's good to hav...
whose parking was ideal to train for drifting, they thought they had caught one. I feel like I have been away for a long, long time... but it is good to wake up Luc from the colonies...what we don' t have them anymore? How long did I sleep?
Corkscrew was pretty cool. We missed the sad event of the 1958 Ferrrari Testa Rossa hitting the tire wall. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/video-ferrari-250-tr-crashes-at-laguna-seca-ar78202.html Hope to go back next year and see some of the other s...
IMO, The Quail Lodge and Concorso Italiano are very different in attendees and atmosphere. I do have to say that the food was excellent especially since they had to cater for so many people. -MW
Dr. M you out do yourself every time, I love your posts the swanky events, dreamy exotic cars, meetings legends, just sublime , can't thank you enough Did you get the chance to meet our fellow Purist Luc Donckerwolke at the Balboni lauch? S
It was mostly Lamborghini staff from NA so I believe Luc was not there. If Luc00 is reading this, hope you are doing well and stop by and say hello! -MW
but so glad to read you are completely mended (well, almost completely ) Looking forward to meeting in person soon; heard a wonderful story about you and a young boy aspiring to be a designer, visiting the factory of the raging bull...Only a person pure o...
and playing their whole life. one needs courage to realise their dreams , they are too many people around that are just obstacles on the way. Thanks for your kind words, hcope that a GTG or a car show .. or next Quail lodge will help us meet Cheers Lu
As the owner of a Maserati for the last 7 years and one I do track, I wish I could have been there....alas, South Carolina is a long way from California!!!
They had a lot of Maserati's represented at the Concorso Italiano so you would have been a happy camper there! Which one do you own? Any pics to share? We had PuristS travel from Atlanta and Texas join us for the Monterey/Carmel?Laguna Seca events over th...
