This is how my GTV6 made a home in the garage. My wife pulled in to the garage from a girls weekend and asked which one of my friends broke down in our driveway. I fessed up and a week of silence began, eventually she accepted the inevitable, and long after that forgave my indiscretion. Bentleys are wonderful automobiles, but while the price of purchase is that of a Toyota, the maintenance is still Bentley priced. If you go for it make sure to have a extensive PPI done by a mark specialist. I would suggest paying particular attention to the suspension, braking systems and electronics. These last multiple lifetimes when maintained properly, a maintenance file that comes with the car is key. My father owned a 88 Turbo R and it was one of the most incredible vechicles I have ever driven.

Update: I can report a successful smog test and the odometer isn't working
And the tires were low (now pumped up) and the LHM fluid reservoir was slightly below minimum (now topped up). The power antenna doesn't work but everything else we tried does. Wiper motor is mounted away from the cowl and the linkage goes under a plastic...
It is not the acquisition cost that will get you.
It will be the mechanical work. I am dure there are youtubers that will show you how to change the oil. But i don’t think this will be fun like your others you work on. Keep us posted.

What is irritating is the stickers that say “remove wiper relay and motor before attempting to check the transmission fluid levels” On the plus side it includes the original mobile telephone ... :-/

How about a modern VW era Continental GT? The 2008 model year and up are reliable and mostly modern.
Yes, those early Bentley Continentals were a beautiful car but not strictluy a British one (in my estimation)
also very heavy (5200-5500 lbs) and if I recall correctly road tests (in CAR perhaps) achieved the lowest mpg of any vehicle ever tested - about 5 mpg. Meaning they emptied the 24 gallon tank in around 100 miles. I have to admire that accomplishment. Mike...
They are very German indeed...
But that's not a bad thing! British design and craftsmanship combined with German engineering and technicals. Some would say that's the best of both worlds.
