Difficult gear ratio
I knew it with my car.
The problem is the law.
Speed limits on roads.
Always my car want faster, and the rpm is not ideal.
Yes, also a 6MT, but the 5 is good to use from 90kmh to 190kmh.
The problem lays at 1, 2, and third gear.
When i go Porsche, i will skip a MT.
PDK is a must for me.

Agreed, the 1-2-3 gearing on the MT is way too long and you really notice it in the mountains where the wide spacing between 1 and 2 often leaves you in a powerless rpm range.
It is partly a Porsche thing, I was super disappointed when I test drove the MT 991.2 GT3 and found 9k rpm equally unreachable on public roads as 8k rpm in the GT4. Emissions and sound regulations killing the fun. When I regeared my GT4 I ran some numbers...

Sharky and deman both get the gears from guard. Deman has a proprietary 2nd gear ratio I think. Hollinger makes gears but only 3-6 which is great for race cars that can use the long 2nd gear in the track.

Yes, noise was an issue as well (and ultimately the failed criterion) but was internally it was slave to the emissions concern.
In the end, it is all to do with how the computer now controls all the throttle/gearbox interactions and it’s respective optimization. Thanks, Brian

You're absolutely right that the sound in the 4 cylinder is quite loud, especially at lower speeds that are more common around town in comparison to the 6. I enjoy both the 6 and 4 cylinder sounds but tend to think the internet commentary on the 4 cylinde...
