Battery capacity and availability of charging stations. I’m not going for EV now because of the lack of charging infrastructure. But with major car manufacturers ending ICE engines and moving to EV, I guess the choice is limited. Maybe Hydrogen cars. Chee...

And the infrastructure to produce at very large scales hydrogen using carbon-free electric energy is nowhere near ready in terms of TRL. Hydrogen is a nice bubble that politics like to throw around because they dont have the balls to talk nuclear héhé If ... 

So is the ability of the cars to fast charge. Tesla have the best infrastructure network.

We don’t even have Official tesla cars yet! Only parallel importers which charge an arm /leg for it. 😆. Still waiting for the model 3 to be here. Cheers PAt

Extreme cold can be a disadvantage.

Still think i can have more fun in say a 911 GT3 or Cayman GT4 on most roads. Impressive what Rimac have done and cant imagine what that kinda straight line performance feels like.

For me it kinda make sense as one round trip from East to west and back on the island is 100km. Good enough for 3-4 trips without charging. Cheers PAt

Most people don’t do long road trips every day, especially as working practices are changing.

When I leave my home the car has a full “tank” approximately 300 miles until it needs a fill up. That’s sufficient for most journeys.

Weight, range, and sustainability (battery and magnet production) will improve over time. A coworker has a Taycan and loves it. I think the Audi PPE platform will be very interesting.

The biggest problem for Porsche/Audi is currently no over the air updates and availability of super fast chargers.

That's my only objection to electrics. They're perfect for the way 95% of people live, but involvement suffers with one-speed transmissions even on sports models. I suspect we'll eventually see a handful of manual transmission electric sports cars as auct... 

But there is still something about the visceral sound and smell of a proper petrol engine which cannot be replaced. Hearing the Rimac, or the Taycan, or the Tesla - sounds like flying a spaceship! Now the below is incredible - it gets horrible gas mileage...
