A Serious Datsun 240Z / FairLady

A car not often seen today in such nice condition!

Residing temporarily in the Auto Museum warehouse run by my pal Steve.

The museum is closed until further notice, like all museums in Balboa Park.

They can't go indefinitely, as they are dependent on admission revenues.

This Resto-Mod is owned by a local guy who has loaned it to the museum for display.

To try to get more exposure locally, and entertain some of the regulars who can't get in to see real cars, the museum is working on a series of videos. This is the first trial episode of "What's under the tarp?"
Not a professionally done video (aka Jay Leno), this is just lift the canvas and have a look:

Firing it up so you can hear it run...

I had a white 1970 for many many years. HLS 005130. It’s still around my city somewhere.

I had a 280Z 2+2 in college

That was a great car! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

My uncle had a 'normal' U.S. spec 240Z...

...that I drove back when the freeways around here were almost empty. First time I hit 100mph...but don't tell anyone : ) On the other hand, it was 40 years ago so they probably stopped looking for me...

WOW! That's such a cool car. [nt]

YES, a 280ZX 2+2 (more luxury, less sport) . I've always thought that was the best Prelude. And I believe that's a Peugeot in front of it! Not Japanese obviously but no longer

sold and rarely if ever seen in So Cal now... unless Cazalea has one stashed away in a warehouse somewhere!
