The perfect AP RO...
...for me will always be the original Jumbo due to its "flatness", i.e. ratio of height and diameter.
The 15300 is bulkier and the 15400 could regain some of this "flatness".
But what really stopped me from buying a 15300 all these years was the overweight second hand. This has been solved with the 15400. So, if it fits the wrist, I would prefer the 15400!
Then again, why not look for a pre-owned 15202 Jumbo, that has been carefully worn? Nothing like the original, I guess.

Guys your advice is needed, i am looking at both models and want opinions from owners , I'm leaning towards the newer version are they exact same except for size , your help is appreciated
I prefer the 15300...
More balanced for my taste. You can feel it due to the location of the date window. But it is a personal point of view and nothing can replace yours. Fx
15400 unless too big
If the extra 2mm works for you, I like the 15400. Dial has a bit better performance, I like the double baton at 12 o'clock rather than the triangle, and the 15400 has a much nicer clasp (which is much appreciated even though it's on the bottom of the watc...
I prefere the size of the 15300....
I saw the 15400 at my dealer last week and it is a stunner on all accounts BUT it felt just too big on my wrist so try them both out and see what you think. I have the 15305 which I find is just the perfect size for me. Enjoy your search, Andy.
15300, without doubt.
It is difficult to enhance the size of a perfect watch without touching its perfection. BUT, on the other side, there is a demand for a bigger Royal Oak, and the 15400 is certainly for them. Best, Nicolas
Another vote for the 15300.
While much of the strategy behind the new Royal Oak lineup centered around uniting the various models, I am really partial to the "AP" logo at 12 on the 15300. And the 39mm really seems to wear larger on the wrist.
15300 no question!
Its size is perfect for most wrists, the 15400 looks and feels too big imo unless you got Arnold's or stallone's wrists :-)

For me it is an easy choice..the 15300
It just fits my wrist better and it is the size of the original. So it was designed to be that size. But...I would say to get the one the feels better on Your wrist and just enjoy it! Best, J.

As others have said the proportions look correct on the 15300 and it is truer to the original. The rails look too thin IMO on the 15400. The 15300 is a great modern interpretation of the original with thinker/chunkier case, screw down crown, heftier brace...

Hi Gazoz, I tried the AP 15400 at the local AD and find it's too big even for my big wrists. I am wondering where you are getting a new (I assumed) AP RO 15300? I am also looking to get one. Thanks!
