I appreciate the knowledge - I never considered some people may have gotten them and then swapped the bezels out after they had tarnished, or maybe just ended up not liking the differing metals. Crazy. I wish I had a little more money to comfortably just have one and stash it - I don't know if I like it enough to wear it, but I really do love the history of the offshores.

I checked the AP Chronicles' page
and what they say is so accurate (year by year sales from 1995 to 1999) that I would tend to rely on it. That only 10 or less than 10 have surfaced on the market doesn't seem unbelievable to me. It would just mean that 50+ owners are happy with this watch...
Maybe because there is a big difference between " made " and " resurfaced ", which is a common phenomenon in the vintage world.
For example, the Tornek Rayville: Around 1100 were made. How many survived? A bit more than 100? Maybe not even 100?
