Audemars Piguet 25721SA

The 25721SA is the first example of a Royal Oak Offshore exhibiting two tone configuration. It is a standard beast, however the bezel is supposedly 18k yellow gold. The bracelet does not contain any gold interlinks, making for a strange appearance, but a unique one.

In doing some research on the 25721SA, I've found the AP Chronicles site to list that 64 of them were produced in total

Several 25721SA's have been auctioned at large auction houses recently, one being a very very tarnished one at Philip's in May of 2022. It has a wild appearance.

The second recent 25721SA auctioned was at Sotheby's in June of 2022.

My question is, the Philip's auction states only "4 were known to be made in this configuration" and the Sotheby's states less than 10 known examples. How is this possible? If AP made 64 like they say they made, there is no way 50+ examples just vanish from the world. Can anyone provide any background information on this model, or on the accuracy of the AP Chronicles?

Another example is for sale on Chrono24 right now that is "naked", along with a second example on facbeook I saw today that is a fullset. So that right there is 4 unique examples just in the past couple years that have made their way to the internet?
