Audemars Piguet

Good question

My overarching thought on this watch is that ceramic is nearly the ideal material for the RO, given the complex forms and surfaces that can otherwise scratch and the crisp edges that can otherwise dull with time and wear. I think it's a great material to "lock in" the new, unworn condition of the piece. Furthermore, I think AP executed the alternating brushed and polished surfaces extremely well.

Obviously, the ultra-thin movement and classical form of the dial layout are great.

I have two criticisms:

1. The black color is just not my taste. A gray ceramic like the Omega GSOTM would have been preferable in my view.
2. The photo-realistic moon on the moon phase. Too much moon detail always strikes me as kind of silly. I prefer a simple clean disc to represent the moon, but this is obviously just an opinion.

It's one of this year's important watches in my view.

Cheers,

Brandon
