That’s quite a bad ding but it shouldn’t compromise the WR. I’d make a fuss with AP HQ directly! Totally unacceptable. I also sold off my AP after experiencing poor customer service. [nt]

AP Service Question

 By: kennygfunk : December 19th, 2018-14:36
When I purchased my fourth AP, ROO Themes, I was very excited. Later, I noticed that THE PAINT ON THE TACHYMETER RING STARTED TO PEEL! So, I sent it to the AP service center in Clearwater, FL. AP did not provide me with an explanation on how this may have...

If this is your 4th AP, your other 3 must have been great

I am not an AP owner but I have to say this doesn't sound quite right to me. If the watch was purchased from an AD, I would be surprised to hear AP declining the damaged dial under the warranty. At that point, I would have insisted for it to be repaired u...

I've owned the watch. [nt]

I've owned the watch.

And I miss it. Spent many Caribbean gigs with her on the wrist, no issues at all. In fact, I'm trying to find one to "have it back". Feel for your nightmarish experience, though. All the best!

Very dissapointing!

From your story, seems like they just care to take customer's money Or, you just had a bad luck with the watch... Anyway, even if everything was fixed, I wouldn't dare to wear it anymore. Like you, I'd sell it take the loss and buy other brand you fancy. ...

''By this time, my watch had a few scratches and a ding. So, AP voided my warranty...." . Never heard that before, unless that 'ding' caused a damage to structural integrity. You see..[nt]

....AP doesn't know if the ding came first or the moisture ie if that ding cud even be responsible. Regardless, given the history of troubles with a brand new watch and you paid once already they shud def have been more accommodative. Peeling ring cud its...

thanx. you see AP thinks its the impact that has damaged the seals causing the moisture to get inside. Frankly It does seem like quite a hit. If you have pics from the peeling ring from b4,

and proof of service/payment, you shud present your case to your contact and get a relief. Its fair to ask for adjustment when you paid once already under warranty on a brand new piece. Peeling paint inside the case on a new watch cud have been due to moi...

Good idea, but I would think...

They would look at past history and maybe make the connection themselves. I’m not the type to beg or act the fool. I just won’t do business with them again or recommend their products or service. Recently, my friend wanted my advice on a new purchase. He ...

You are absolutely right. Service counts. btw Patek fails are plenty too - Try sending one for service. AP turnaround times and customer interaction most times is much much better.

AP did lose a customer, but in these times they cud careless if you play that card or PP for that matter. More demand/hype and supply controls makes one off incident irrelevant to them. But give it a fair chance by putting all you cards on the table and A...

I'm scratching my head here...

I bought a watch and spent enough money to purchase a car. The watch is made out of steel, and has a very small amount of gold (rotor, hands). As a matter of fact, in China they sell knockoffs, which thanks to technology, are spot on and sell for roughly ...

I know that feeling. But recognize the fact that mkt has actually moved up due to these fakes - 30-60k for a simple time-only steel or carbon watch is now entry level. Enthusiast/Collectors/Flippers ....

....fall over each other to get the 150k watch and are ready to pay premium to get it. Loud and Clear distinction from fakes so no one with that mindset/lifestyle even dares to wander into their boutiques. Every business goes through a boom/bust cycle and...
