i like it but don't love it.
When Lange first introduced honey gold in 2010, I got the 1815 Moonphase and the Lange 1 Tourbillon, both in HG (matching numbers). I did this primarily because HG seemed like a special metal, and I thought Lange wouldn't use it very often. But then, in subsequent years, Lange started making many more honey gold pieces , so the metal became less special in my eyes. Also, I've always like yellow gold a lot, and the appearance of honey gold pales in comparison to YG, so to speak. HG just looks a bit washed out to me, like it doesn't know what it wants to be.
The honey gold Lange 1 Tourbillon ended up being the only Lange I ever owned that I literally never wore. I just didn't like it enough to wear it, for some reason, so it sat for 10 years literally unworn, with the hang tag still attached to the strap. I finally traded it for the (older, preowned) Lange 1 Tourbillon in platinum a few years ago, which I love and wear frequently. I still have and do wear the HG 1815 Moonphase occasionally, but I find that I don't like it as much as many other watches (such as the older Emil Lange 1815 Moonphases).

As a purchaser of honey gold, I'm not sure I like it as much as normal yellow or rose gold. Yellow and rose gold have this incredible "richness" and warmth that just makes them likeable. Even bronze is likeable. Copper pots are likeable. But honey gold......

Winding that watch is so painful! The new one is slightly less painful, but still pretty bad. Thus, the Zeitwerk is great as a "special occasion" watch. But as a regular daily, it's just too painful to wind, and (lest we forget) reliability isn't exactly ...

Great music. Lovely watches. I got to speak with Alkis, the watchmaker for Lange Service in NYC, he's fantastic... Good food. Good champagne (Veuve, but it wasn't too dry). I was surprised to see such a long line, but it turned out to be worth it!

I'm not surprised. I'm not impressed by the HG I bought neither... Would probably like it more if it were normal YG or RG or WG.
Still, the honey gold is beautiful. Just not as beautiful as YG, RG, nor WG.

The hours are indicated in Roman numerals: I, II, III, IIII, V, ... XII. The minutes are blank, 5, 10, 15, ... 55.

The gong rings at 7:52. But the five minute clock still shows VII:50. Audience only knows to take their seats from the audible gongs. When the time transitions from 7:59 to 8:00, the minutes discs will show 0 for the tens digit and 0 for the single digits...
Oh! I meant on the Zeitwerk watch the digits transition to :00
