If you want to go with the Lange 1 Moonphase the best looking one IMO is the white gold and black dial combination. Also, the Saxonia looks a little big on your wrist. I have a 6 1/4 inch wrist and the Saxonia Thin was too large for me. I ended up getting... 

I think the Saxonia thin may look large because of the emptiness on its dial compared to the moonphase watches. My wrist is 6.5 inches and if you think the 37mm Saxonia thin looks a little big on my wrist, then surely the 38.5mm Lange 1 moonphase would lo... 

The Lange 1 Moonphase is not too big for your wrist due to the “busy” dial. The uncluttered dial of the Saxonia Thin makes it wear a lot larger than its 37mm. As I mentioned the Saxonia Thin looks too big on me, but the 1815 Up/Down looks great. The diffe... 

but when I do try on a watch for size, I actually take a more objective view personally and look at how the case and lugs sit on my wrist rather than being too affected by what goes on in the dial as that would give a misconception that the dial is smalle...

But for us small-wrist fellows it is rare to be spoiled for choice!

The majority of watches these days are 39mm and larger which can be terribly frustrating for us smaller wristed folk. I am so grateful to Lange for reducing the sizes of its Saxonia range which to me is great hindsight on their part. They are smart enough... 

With their lugs even a 37mm watch is too big on my wrist.

will fit you perfectly. And if that is still too large for you, you could try the many 33mm Breguets from the 1990s. I believe you can still find a brand new unworn 5907s! And you are right, it is actually a blessing that more watches cannot fit our wrist... 

With Lange I am spoiled for choice. For VC I am very interested to see about this rumored entry-level watches that will be (hopefully) unveiled soon..

There was a report a month-or-so ago that VC will be introducing a new range of entry-level (i.e. cheaper) watches. Still a rumor at this stage. As for which Lange, I am considering the Lange 1, Lange 1 Moonphase, Little Lange 1 Moonphase, and the 1815 AC...

the quality is kept to the same very high standard. Lange has done this with the Saxonia thin and 35mm Saxonia. Moritz Grossmann decided a couple of years ago to produce steel watches with movements with a less elaborate finishing. That without doubt boos...

Buying a 5119 Calatrava next year. After that there will be a decent wait for the next watch.

Too many people overlook the 5119 but it is a lovely classic watch even though one might argue that the movement is too small for its case. It is however, a very good and proven movement. Which one will you get? Would you not consider a 5116R?

I have a WG Saxonia 35mm, as such for a contrast I decided to go with the yellow gold Calatrava. As for why I ruled out the 5116R, rose gold is my least favorite gold and while I do like the enamel dial the extra cost was not worth it.

as it is very difficult to tell the 5116 and 5119 dials apart unless you put them side by side and have a good eye. The 5119J is a classic and a great Patek in its own right.

It fits my wrist better than the 38.5mm Lange 1 moonphase although it may not necessarily be a more attractive watch than the Lange 1 moonphase. But you know me Sake, it has to suit my wrist first and foremost!!

The other two are great too but the moon has got a bit of a lead start for me

That seems to be the majority vote at the moment! No one has pointed this out yet but it is interesting to note that the hands on this watch are luminous which would be useful in the dark

No argument from me there - a darker strap would definitely be a lot better on the little Lange 1. How would a burgundy/brown strap look?!

You know my wrist, you know what watches appeal to me and the Saxonia thin would be a logical choice - the safe bet!! It is undoubtedly elegant despite the above photo being not very flattering due to the light conditions. I know it is not quite comparing...

The Saxonia thin is a special watch (I will show you mine one day if you show me yours! ) and I actually like the 1815 up and down except for the fact that it takes more than 150 turns to wind the watch. I owned one before and suffered - and believe me yo... 

Real guilloche on a rose engine makes for a very special dial. Super sweet.

The guillloche dial is pretty difficult to resist even with a white strap. A darker colour strap would make the watch even more alluring. ...
