It all started in 2015...
When I first saw the 1815 HG and the 1815 Boutique Chronograph in Dubai Boutique.
Both pieces were for celebrating 200th Anniversary of FA Lange.
I got the 1815 HG after missing the one in Dubai but the boutique chronograph has always been haunting me.
Many members may know I always wanted a nicer, higher end mechanical chronograph and has been hesitant whether it’s PP 5x70 or ALS Dato or 1815 or Vacheron CDV.
Finally I made the choice after all these years, I end up with love at first sight.
One down, few more to check off the list and I’m as happy as I can be.
Although it’s been said to be “entry level”, I don’t really mind because I’ve tried on the others and I still prefer the Lange movement but not the Dato because of the size and thickness.

I just love the porcelain white/blue dial, although both the RG/WG + Black dial are very stunning looking too. Thank you very much.
Yes, the black dial ones in RG or WG is nice too...
They have the “look” of a Dato. I’ve tried them all...all good but can only have one 😉 ...
I would say the 1815 chrono is the best piece among your choices!

Do my eyes deceive me? Your case appears to be white/grey gold. I'm not an expert in 1815 Chrono variations. Previously I've only seen panda dials in rose/yellow cases. Did I miss something? Best, Robert
It's the lighting that played tricks on your eyes my friend.
Mine is the rose gold with panda dial, though it does appear white in this picture!

The blue changes color to black under some angles and when it’s bright, the white dial pops, very glad to have this version.

I’m just quoting some blogs and honestly don’t care that’s why the decision. I could have buy a famous Dufourgraph but I’m just not into the hype...it would be still ok and looks stunning with a Dato but I go with what I like. Thank you Jim

...I recently bought an 1815 Up/Down, and desperately tried to justify the 1815 Chrono but it would have meant basically liquidating half my collection so couldn’t justify it, but it’s a spectacular watch. Wear in good health

it also took me very, very long before taking this plunge and finally convinced myself if eventually this is what I want, bite the bullet and enjoy it sooner. Thank you and wear yours in good health too.

It's a feeling of happiness and relief?? The build quality and pusher feel is definitely top or equivalent to the PP and better than the VC. Cheers...hopefully eagle lands in tranquility land soon

It looks right on your wrist and the movement is tops in my opinion compared to the other two very terrific choices in your pictures. I too love the 1815 chrono current version. It’s a gem and under appreciated.

The choice between CdV and your Lange is just down to taste: I went for the flowing lines of the VC but I equally admire the perfectly proportioned and excuisitely executed Lange. Both watches are in the top leage, front side and back. Wishing you many wo...
There is no right or wrong answer at this level of collection...
just personal preference as you mentioned. Both are respectable brands with great heritage, quality. Enjoy yours in the best of health too.
