An interesting question... What if you could have and wear only one watch?
By: HighEndOne : October 25th, 2019-05:00
A recent post got my attention. One of our forum members was considering trading his entire collection for a single watch. The watch under consideration was really a grail piece. It was just stunning, but for me it would be quite impractical. Personally, ...
OP 39 is my answer
By: VinnieD : October 25th, 2019-05:10
It certainly is a question that everyone here has asked him/herself at some point. Should I need to run from a burning house with just one watch, my Rolex OP 39 black dial would suffice: sturdy, precise, wearable in nearly all occasions. Not really an exc...
This should be a mind boggling dilemma for most
By: sham1 : October 25th, 2019-05:18
but for me it is quite easy as I am a bit of a ruthless bugger! Question one - from my current collection, the watch that I would keep would be the Moritz Grossmann piece unique that I won at an auction last year. This watch was to commemorate the tenth a...

looking fwd to !
Your MG 1 of 1 is a great choice. Wonderful.
By: HighEndOne : October 25th, 2019-11:38
Question two can go new or pre-owned, so the world is wide open. Any PP would be a good choice, depending on how you need to use/wear it. Thanks.
Thank you!

In which case, between the Patek 5029R and the new 5531R, I would definitely choose the 5029R, more rare, more elegant and a better fit on my small wrist! Okay, okay, it is cheaper too!
Thank you my friend!
By: sham1 : October 25th, 2019-19:17
Everytime I seen a 5029R appearing in auction (which is not often), I do look at all my watches but cannot imagine at this stage of my life to swap all my watches for just one holy grail.
Let me help you out... (wink - wink) Thanks.

Think of this... If you were headed to the jungle and primitive living, what watch might you bring along? However, some might argue that in such a scenario, knowing the time is less important than food, for instance.
Very nice! Thanks.

I see a glimpse of steering wheel and dashboard... What are you driving there? It's got a lot of triple digits on the speedo (KM/H).
Thank You...

This one, Or this one... For the same reason, because they both have a friendly complication, and because I would love to just own one Rolex and one JLC. Two brands I like a lot. Best, Nicolas ...

The VC Overseas is the best allrounder, so from a perspective of everyday wearability, this would be the winner of my current collection. On the other hand I could never sell the grönefeld remontoire before selling the VC. If I could buy anything, it woul...

Question 1 This first photo is the one I currently own. It will be the last thing I ever part with. The Air-King was a gift from my Father in 1968. I was all of 13 years old at the time. She is an heirloom piece. It has literally been through hell and bac...

well it would likely be my Patek 5980/1A... it dos it all for me... now the second part of the question is too abstract for me... any watch is just too broad. But I will make an answer with the assumption it would be a watch that I would feel comfortable ...

1/ From current collection, my JLC Master Ultra Thin 34 2/ the one watch not in collection yet: I would (and will) get a JLC Geophysic True Second. Second would then be Breguet 5907, then ... then ... ... Best, É.

I’ll go for my Journe as a daily wearable pc....just can’t beat this one easily.... Then I’ll go for another indie...the RR CC - I like it very much ! If I can add one more - probably the Zeitwerk Black dial in deed. Best, Mahesh., ...

A watch that can be worn anywhere, with any outfit, under any conditions, and will always feel like a first choice. On a rivet or folded bracelet, of course.
Never an easy one but here goes....

1) Assuming not security concerns, or if one limits travel to certain places, or just doesn’t wear the watch in certain places then as I’ve stated many times my two more versatile watches are my Chronometre Bleu and my Nautilus 5711. These are the watches...

That nobody has chosen an AP RO or an Omega Speedmaster If I had to choose one watch for everything, from swimming lo black tie I would probably be a non date sub Rolex, however not the one with the ceramic bezel However it is a “flashy” watch as everyone...

By: HighEndOne : October 27th, 2019-08:08
Despite the screw down crown on my RO, I refuse to take it into the water. The cost of failure would be too high. The Jumbos lack that crown protection, as far as I know. Now the Seamaster might be a better choice for wet work. Or any Oyster. On the Apple...

1) I would keep my Lange Datograph (original version). 2) If I could have one watch probably the Patek 5078P with black dial. Dave
there are too many beauties out there for this to be a real option ...

... but if you put a gun to my head, this one of my current lineup, I love everything about it and the bracelet makes it more versatile (especially, wearable in the summer heat). I am actually not sure I would pick something else if I had free choice. Bes...
First, from my collection, it’s a close call, but I must go with the Zeitwerk (white gold and black dial) over the Journe Chronometre Blue. The Zeitwerk is so flexible. I can wear it with a suit and then with jeans.
By: Obeezy : October 26th, 2019-17:46
Also, I am mesmerized by the change in time every 60 seconds. The dial, in my opinion, is perfectly balanced and the movement is a true marvel. As for the mechanics, it speaks for itself. Next, the watch I don’t own, but would make my daily would have to ...
I think we have all pondered this question before.

At least I have and I always go back to my first gen datograph. I have sold and owned this piece seven times. The last time I went on the hunt I couldn’t find an unmolested version of it. So I contacted an old friend who’s exact piece got me into Lange (E...
Thanks Nico!

It is nice owning the exact Dato that got me into Lange some 17 years ago. Time sure flies no pun intended. Needless to say this one stays with me or it goes back to Edwin
