I agree. It becomes a bit kitsch after a while.

Especially with their lack of subtly.

Is there anyone in VC who's willing to compete against RO and Nautilus?
By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : March 10th, 2021-08:42
I've just read the report , average price form VC is 20k. AP and PP nearly 35k (PP sells several quartz). They don't need to become a one model only maison, but at least they might celebrate the iconic 222 with a better one. The 2000 V was beautiful, it's...

Paid in watches, that is the best salary i ever heard. You right, the Overseas is better than the Nautilus. The RO is in many versions, some i like, some i do not like. A one model only maison, so they are afraid to come with more flavors. In cars, a DDR ...
I do agree, it's neither rounded nor tonneau

I think they've tried to design something different, but sometimes you just need to be simple and essential. After a whole life in the need of the window date, now I can't really stand it any longer
Ah, but kitsch is in the eye of the beholder.

I remember when folks were making fun of the Nautilus white dial, comparing it with a white garage door with slats (even here). I like it though. All designs fall in and out of favor. Including the Nautilus (which was discontinued for a time before PP res...

All fashion goes in cycles and value retention follows suit. There was a time not too long ago when no one wanted watches designed in the 1970s. They were tacky, until they were 'hot' again. Daytonas didn't sell well...then decades later they became 'hot'...
I love the current 4500v version.
By: Wristenthusiast : March 10th, 2021-17:48
But the proportions of the 2000v are better . The only thing I would really like to see is 1) a little bit thinner, closer to the 2000v 2) let the end links at the bracelet come in more instead of flaring out so much. Thatโs mainly for me though as my wri...
A no date would be most welcome...

And even better would be to also have it made in titanium... like the one piece they made for a certain mountaineer not too long ago...
I agree with you, Patrick.

Seems low to me too. Isn't 20K about where Vacherons start (other than maybe the fiftysix line)?
Who is buying all of these Longines?

By this chart they are apparently twice as popular as Rolex (by volume). But, I donโt see that many out there.
