Agree my friend! Some of the U/W gurus of the time were in charge of shooting those scenes: Lamar Boren and Ivan Tors, pioneers of scuba diving and underwater films...

... Also Interesting to tell you that in January 1966 I was in Miami in my first visit to USA. I was a young 17 years old ladd with a passion for scuba diving (and a fan of Bond) and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jordan Klein Sr. another pioneer of scuba diving and U/W photography.
Mr. Klein built some popular U/W housings for land cameras, and he had designed and built many of the U/W gadgets used for the Thunderball film: e.g. the U/W sled used to stole the "atomic bomb" and the special scooters shown in the final U/W battle were built by him and they were exhibited in his Diving Shop where I met him and bought some pieces of my diving equipment.
A few years later I had the opportunity of scuba diving in a couple of spots used in the filming: a wreck and a mock up Vulcan bomber located near Nassau.
As you can imagine these experiences were like touching the sky for a young scuba diving and Bond fan!
Cheers! Abel
