By: blomman Mr Blue : October 9th, 2014-10:19
Friends, Let's see your trvael watches! Here is my current travel watch (sitting at Zurich airport waiting for my flight).... GP Deep Diver at Neuchatel! HAGWE! Best Blomman...

You're in . . .

By: Dr No : October 9th, 2014-11:02
. . . the army . . . . . . now. You're on your way to a foreign land Now's the time to do what you can. :-) Omega ref 2179 . . . . . . produced on spec for the US Army, ca '45. ...

I can't confirm that supposition, Nicolas. I've seen images . . .

By: Dr No : October 10th, 2014-13:25
. . . of various 'slash' iterations with both US Army engraving and without. Mine is a /5 without the engraving, but there are examples with the engraving, too. What I'd really like to discover are the terms of the contract signed between the US governmen...

I believe they're right . . .

By: Dr No : October 10th, 2014-15:02
. . . and retracting what I wrote about engravings on all slash iterations. For the /5 , at least, there's no evidence to be found of a US Army example. Art

When I first started collecting vintage Omega . . .

By: Dr No : October 10th, 2014-12:12
. . . many years ago, only the best examples would do; a flawed specimen like this would've been rejected. Now, I've come to appreciate character almost as much as condition. And need I say, I really, really like this watch.

Luckily, we all change ....

Travel to me requires two watches ...

By: nilomis : October 9th, 2014-12:17
One, extremely reliable, like the Omega Planet Ocean 8500 (that has the advantage of being able to move the hour hand without disturbing the time settings). This was my setup during my last overseas trip. 1) Getting ready for take off (777-200 heading to ...

For sure ...

By: nilomis : October 10th, 2014-15:27

Travelling and watches

By: crown comfort : October 9th, 2014-13:03
My usual business travel extends to 3-4 days, rarely longer. I got used to bringing 2-3 watches on a trip and selection depends on the mood and which one I need to show some love and give it fresh air. What I find useful on travelling when changing watche...

Great minds... ;-)

By: rnaden : October 10th, 2014-08:29
Goes to show that we appreciate similar things - and when watches are designed and built right, they "speak" to many of us in similar ways.

The mid-size Aqua Terra . . .

By: Dr No : October 10th, 2014-13:44

Thank you!

By: sanro : October 11th, 2014-10:05
