This comes as quite a surprise. My personal favorite was Abel's Big Pilot shot and so many other great options to choose from. Maybe one day we can take the thegrailkid out on the boat to go see some whales together?!

it's hard to explain the lunacy of a watch collector, isn't it? Even to one's self (not to mention the wife). Everytime I think of a "big watch" I remember this one, and "the next day" wondering what drugs I must have been on when I bought this... The doo...  

... malady... including our wives of course! Lol! Your Galante (and my Egiziano) are good examples. Yes, sometimes we feel a bit embarrased when sharing some of our purchases which look beyond the "normal" expected for a watch: super big watches, funky or...

You had a much tougher job than me as there were many many nice wrist shots to pick from. Well done and congrats on the picks!

Like the other judges, I found this a magnificent challenge. I wanted to do the math of all the length x width x thickness x weight to come up with a mathematical whale, but quickly concluded there's no point in that. So I just went with my subjective opi...  

fitting. Great choices, particularly (for me) The Pod. OMG how many breathtaking watches can one fit in one photograph—and as you say, sans glare! And yes, of course your wife's watch a LJC. But WG or Platinum? Rather dear, either way. Have a well-earned,... 

I shot the "pod" with a (very old) iPhone, hand held. The short focal length on the iPhone (28-30mm equivalent on a 35mm SLR) helps with depth of field, but also yields the distortions you can see on the Time Pyramid. No light box, but shot with indirect ... 

But what a collection. I don't know whether I'll ever quite recover…. Fred ...
