WS of the 9th June - STARTS NOW!!!

 By: andrewluff : June 8th, 2017-15:08
So here is my choice for tonight and trying to choose something to open to share... I love this watch but on the other hand have a very strange relationship with it as I only wear it maybe once or twice a year. On the other hand, it has also been on near ...

A timeless classic...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-02:48
Always loved the green crystal on the Milgauss and of course the orange hand!! A great watch. Cheers Andrew

Birthday watches ...

 By: nilomis : June 8th, 2017-17:39
Here are some: Last year birthday gift to myself: Polaris 65 Pt. A celebration forever. Static picture for the celebration: The last Amvox. Seven: Last year Christmas: My coolest gift, from the last year: A glorious watch, IMHO: A wonderful weekend to all...

I remember well your "coolest gift from the last year". I had been particularly impressed by its weight.

 By: Alkiro1 : June 8th, 2017-23:21
And what about this Omega. Absolutely stunning. Best wishes Alkiro

WOW Nilo....

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-02:49
You are bringing in the heavy guns!! I would have trouble choosing between them... but think it would have to go towards the Omega, I have always been fascinated with this piece. If you could only keep one from these... which would it be? Cheers Andrew

Wow Nilo!! What a photographic gallery!! Awesome shots!! ... and watches!!...

 By: Subexplorer : June 9th, 2017-08:33
... Have a great week end my friend! Cheers! Abel

Hi Nilo, Not easy to write after seeing your JLC beauties...

Rolex Milgauss

 By: MRA : June 8th, 2017-21:56
This was my engagement present watch in 2011. I figured if the girl gets a ring the guy gets a Rolex. Have a great weekend everyone. ...

a Milgauss winner...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-02:52
I have never owned a Rolex but if I did, this would be probably be towards the top of the list. What made you choose this one rather than the green crystal one? Cheers Andrew

Honestly...

 By: MRA : June 9th, 2017-03:57
To be honest it was a tricky decision. I remember talking to a work colleague the day before I went to buy it & saying "first pick is the GV (green crystal), then the white, then the black". I arrived at the AD as soon as they opened & we laid all 3 versi...

This just arrived yesterday...

 By: NT931 : June 8th, 2017-22:11
... so it's on my wrist today of course. A continuation of my ongoing obsession with blued hands ! ...

That's a wonderful new addition

 By: crown comfort : June 8th, 2017-23:25
lovely vintage Zenith Chronograph and I'm with you on blued hands...

Congratulations for this new lovely arrival

An amazing Zenith...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-02:53
you must tell me more about that, it looks like a decent size case as well? Love those angles on the lugs. Great catch! Cheers Andrew

Thanks CC, Alkiro, VMM & Andrew for your kind words...

 By: NT931 : June 9th, 2017-06:03

 By: Mike H : June 11th, 2017-01:38
Nothing can have as much charm as a beautiful vintage piece in such a nice condition ! Excellent catch bravo, it is worth being patient ! Mike

Give it a second thought, Andrew. The Freak is a special watch, not something you will wear every day.

 By: amanico : June 8th, 2017-22:46
But when you wear it, you know why you own it. It is such a special watch! Best, Nicolas

I am with you Nico...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-03:16
it is why I still have it. I put it on and fall in love with it again... not that the relationship ended maybe just cooled off! I just wonder sometimes if I were to get shed a few pieces which I did not wear would I miss them and get a bigger piece which ...

For me that GP high frequency is just magic...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-02:55
The style of the numerals, the balanced dial and that orange hand! I wish GP would go back to making some of these amazing watches... they seem to have lost their way recently. Cheers CC Andrew

I know, I know :))) [nt]

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-04:14
Are you sick?! LOL! But if you were going to wear one, this Nomos fits the bill. Always loved the beautiful clean dials on these. Is that a power reserve just above the centre of the dial? Cheers Andrew

:)

 By: VMM : June 9th, 2017-06:26
Don't worry, real passions never die, and mine is real. Still enjoying them. Not wearing many watches these days. I haven't worn any for more than three years, and now they really bother me on the wrist. They must be light and comfy or I would not wear th...

You don't see these very often!

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-05:36
I remember I almost bought one back in the day as they had a model with orange if I recall in it. Very cool watch indeed... big but cool!!! Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew

 By: gcTIME : June 9th, 2017-06:50
Indeed these don't come by often. Yes, big but wearable as it has no lugs. Hugs my small wrist quite well I must say.

Happy Birthday, Andrew!

 By: KIH : June 9th, 2017-05:45
... well, from me, not exactly celebratory timing, but here it is. Celebrating with Caviar and Champagne -)) HAGWE, everyone! I am flying again....for business trip next week..... Sigh.... Ken ...

You should not complain, Ken

Arrggghh...Ken

 By: gcTIME : June 9th, 2017-06:51
You are killing me with that Chopard again!

Well it looks tough Ken...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-13:02
but someone has to eat the caviar and drink he champagne I guess! I have travelled for the last 15 years so totally get it, everyone thinks it must be great but most of the time I am happy to actually be at home! Safe travels! Andrew

Happy Birthday again Andrew!! Superb watch and it is really a strange (or curious) relationship with it...

 By: Subexplorer : June 9th, 2017-08:24
... as you explain this duality. In any case, I wish you´ll enjoy it so much (till you find another watch which justifies letting this one go!) All the best, Abel.

Thanks Abel!

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-13:07
Its a strange one, I wore it yesterday and then thought I wonder why I do not wear it more often. I wonder if it is the weight of being platinum that puts me off... Cheers Andrew

Here is my celebratory watch...

 By: jporos : June 9th, 2017-10:30
HAGWE! ...

Definitely something worth celebrating!

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-13:10
Love the clean and almost sterile dial of the MIH... no frills just the information you need clear and concise. Cheers Andrew

Wow!

If I get to 20 years service the most I can expect is the certificate!

Jml, I had to buy the watch...

 By: jporos : June 9th, 2017-16:36
All I got from the University was the certificate. I also had to earn my promotion by putting together a 300 page portfolio and have outside and inside reviewers recommend and vote for me. Nothing is free.

Means you got to choose a great one :-)

 By: jml_watches : June 10th, 2017-01:04
Was rather amazed initially as thought the days of watches as long service awards were long gone. You've just proved me right - you have to buy your own! Though yours is a great choice. Enjoy wearing it JML

This is definitely my celebration watch

 By: nafetS : June 9th, 2017-10:38
1. My only visibly (non-white) golden watch. I don't wear gold a lot, but i adore this one. 2. Perfect size for my golden watch 3. The perfect mixture of classic and dressy, yet still young and sporty. 4. There's nothing I don't like about it (except mayb...

I am not sure I have seen a gold Geophysic

A birthday present to myself for a landmark. Wearing today and reading

 By: watchthatman : June 9th, 2017-12:58
About an island with very few watches worn, and where I may be visiting very soon. Part of me is already there, and that will be its own special occasion. I do love this watch, brightens my day when I wear it. ...

Ah the gorgeous red reverso...

 By: andrewluff : June 9th, 2017-13:59
I remember picking one up with another PuristS a few years back... love the deep red colour of the dial and looks great in the sunshine! Would look even better in the Greek sunshine!! Cheers Andrew

Not a "lonely" timepiece for sure

Best wishes Alkiro

Here is my beloved Breitling offered by my parents for my 20th birthday... almost 20 years ago (exactly the 15th of June). You can easily calculate what will be my age in 6 days ;-)

 By: Alkiro1 : June 9th, 2017-14:19
Impossible to find a better celebration timepiece than this one for me. Even birds-of-paradise seems to love it HAGWE Best wishes Alkiro ...

Happy... ummm 30th... for 6 days time!!

 By: andrewluff : June 10th, 2017-07:26
My way of counting I never get past mid 30's... makes it easier. Lovely Breitling... its amazing how it has not dated, it is still a great and relevant piece today. The last few years Breitling seem to have gone off the boil... I wonder what will come aft...

Thank you Andrew.

Yes, a revival or a slow death throes. We'll see. Best wishes Alkiro

 By: andrewluff : June 10th, 2017-07:27
I think this is one of the ultimate celebration watches... turning it over is a celebration itself and deserves a long cool drink while soaking in that beautiful Minerva. Cheers Andrew

I think we need a new rule for the wristscan

After rationalizing and rationalizing, I end up with having almost only watches to celebrate...

 By: Mike H : June 11th, 2017-02:43
and absolutely impossible to rank them so in random... The latest arrival that I celebrate everyday since (not necessarily that I wear everyday !) That KV that brings a big smile on my face each time I look at it The LF Galet Square that is so incredible ...

Well, with all these treasures, there must be lots to celebrate !.. Amazing lineup of sublime pieces ! :))

 By: hs111 : June 11th, 2017-03:43
- If I would be allowed to choose only one, your mesmerizing KV is a real dream for me. But that does not at all belittle all your other sublime pieces, shown here. Thx for that very stimulating share, true pleasure to look at each of them ! Cheers & Best...

Yes my friend you are allowed to pick up one pic as your fav' but...

 By: NT931 : June 11th, 2017-06:22
... but the 2 which I really REALLY like are the KV and guiloche on the RG VC. What lovely dials, and what an amazing collection.

I can't deny these 2 are REALLY great...

 By: Mike H : June 11th, 2017-09:40
...but I must admit I enjoy switching between all of them from one time to the other without moderation (except logistics reasons as they are not at home at the same time...!)

Wow... any one of those is a celebration in itself!

 By: andrewluff : June 11th, 2017-06:54
If you had to only choose one... which would it be? For me that KV is stunning! Cheers Andrew

It's the difficult choice I have to do every morning : choose one only for the day !

 By: Mike H : June 11th, 2017-09:44
Thank God I can make a reset and choose another one every day if I want (with above mentioned logistics limitation )

Wow Mike!! You got so many reasons to celebrate!!...

I killed nobody neither here nor anywhere my friend, don't worry ! LOL

 By: Mike H : June 11th, 2017-10:53
I'm just lucky to own few pieces that bring me immense pleasure and that I am glad to share here, this is it in all simplicity I won't carry my safe with me so there is little chance only that you see many of them at the same time at the same place...but ...

Perfect ;-)
