STATIC SHOT VERDICT from InDebtButOnTime
Oct 06, 2019,13:08 PM
FROM Brian, aka InDebtButOnTime (I love that handle - it speaks to the lunacy of a watch collector, doesn't it?):
Mike,
Wow, this was not easy. I went back and forth with numerous potential winners.
Wanted to call it a draw between Capt Scarlet's Doxa in pebbles being smacked by water and KMII's Padi crown down partially submerged, pebbles below, bubbles all over (and in motion).
Eventually I decided on the Seiko by KMII for 1st for excellent composition, wonderful color pop, interesting water distortion, evidence of water in motion (look carefully at all the bubbles!) and therefor probably a bit of risk!
2nd goes to Capt Scarlet's wonderful shot of his Doxa with excellently framed tight composition, evidence of water in motion as it is attacked by a wave, definite risk and exquisite timing.
3rd goes to Subexplorer's wonderful Radiomir image with a balanced, tight composition that includes complimentary and contrasting colors with cool blue water in the background.
An Honorable Mention goes to to TYO's Reverso on rail shot that JLC could use in an advertisement, beautiful location and creative use of a Reverso's unique case in displaying the watch.
Thanks for letting me be a part of the community I found this to be challenging and simultaneously a lot of fun trying to consider multiple aspects of a good number of superb images of beautiful watches. If I had chosen wrist shot I'd be up until 3am trying to sort things out (and possibly even the "next" 3am!).
