So I engaged with him and decided to go ahead and place an order.
I love these hands and it was what originally intrigued me about his work.
Initially I was going for a dark blue dial, but as he makes the dial paints himself, the color came out a bit too “purplish”, so I went for a “raw” dial with blue numerals.
He makes the dial on a milling machine with a special head, rather than it being guilloche. Looks great at arms length, but not so perfect like good Guilloche, up close under magnification 😉
It s a lot of hand work by one guy and I love the result.
The caliber is an old Russian hand wind cal. copied or reverse engineered from the 1960’s Moljna. It’s a Cortebert copy of you will.
Nicely hand finished, but not super high end like KV or others. Again this is reflected in what he charges.
My watch.
