I’ll start off with the Best Wrist Shot category

Aug 28, 2022,18:21 PM

Brandon Skinner gets the third place spot, as he seems to be doing a great job passing his passion on to the next generation! I didn’t rank it higher only because of the lack of books in the shot.

Tied for second place sit Bobbe and Subexplorer, with both photos capturing a similar vibe: an iconic chronograph in front of a pile of books.

First place is awarded to Timeout, with a picture that expresses love for independent watchmaking, both with his wrist and with the words that are very much true, written in the background!

…. we all appreciate your taking on this task for the two categories this week. The book (A Man and his Watch) fell open to this page - couldn’t have hoped for a better quote!

My pleasure 😊

Now it gets tough, as the shots submitted were plentiful and I wanted to include so many of them… The competition was fierce and I nominated the photos that caught my eye the most in terms of both the composition and the concept behind them. I’ll start wi...

Thank you Andrea for your kind offering of judging both categories today.

Usually we receive much more wrist shots than statics. This weekend it was just the opposite and all the entries were of high quality making so difficult to choose just a few as winners. I understand your feelings about being unable to include much more e...

Thank you for the kind words!

No shortage of fascinating watches this week! . . .

. . . most, but probably not all, of you know that Watch of the Week is assessed not on the technical quality or composition of the image, but as a result of how intriguing the watch is to a judge. In other words, an ordinary photo is just as liable to co...

Deft judging, Art, as always.

... and to all other participants mentioned in your veredict. As you well say, we received many shots of watches deserving the WOTW title and that makes a very tough job to choose just one winner. Thank you so much to all participants for their awesome en...

Love the photos this week. The theme is a wonderful blend of manual reading (not e-reading) and mechanical pieces. Perfect combo!

Thanks all
