Hong Kong, December '68: I was all of eleven . . .
. . . and visiting with my family on vacation. They acquired a painting by H Leung . . .
. . . which now has pride of place in their living room. My memories of that trip are still vivid - an excursion by boat around the island, visiting a floating restaurant with a fish tank for a menu(!), and most miserably, a trip to a tailor for my first woolen suit. I've never worn wool since. Itchy stuff, that.
Dad's Longines Conquest . . .
. . . which may well have been on his wrist that day at the art gallery where this painting was acquired.
