Hello dear Captain! Thanks a lot for your kind comments on my choices and photographs which I appreciate so much. I´m happy you like this old gold Date which is a kind of "good luck" charm for me now.
It has grown vintage with me during all those long years (Lol!!) and it shows a soft patina in some corners of its case and also the charming riveted bracelet add to the vintage looks of this watch which was bought brand new at a local Rolex Ad around 1981. I only wear it in special family events (e.g. weddings) and at Xmas Eve and Xmas and every December 31st and January 1st since then. It has a big sentimental value for me.

I think this is a very wearable watch that's meant to be a daily. Particularly in white metals, it flies under the radar--although I couldn't resist the 22k. Have a good year!

Patrick Head always said that Damon wanted a significant increase in his contractual salary and this played a part in his shock departure.
I remember that money played quite a significant part in his decision, but he did help raise Eddie's team profile and won their first race for them which was amazing.
I also remember how McLaren were always classed as the villain while Ferrari quite the opposite. The former did have the best cars then, but they were so good that there was no competition, at least for a while.
