I sold my Speedmaster Professional from 2001 with display back last year. Not because I got tired of it, but because I was looking for one with tritium dial. I am convinced that watches from the 80's and 90s with tritium dial will be a big thing in the years to come. But even more importantly, I am extremely fond of the beautiful patina that some dials and hands develop over time.
My Speedmaster 3572.50 before its last trip to the new owner. I had it on a nice alligator strap most of the time.
After looking for a nice example for a while, I found one in near mint condition, with all boxes and papers. . It arrived this week
This is also a 3572.50, but from 1997.
The watch seems almost unworn. I might actually put it on a nice leather strap. Not the Omega alligator, but one which suits the vintage character that comes from the aged trititum dial and the plastic crystal.
Of course the original Speedie has a solid case back , but the calibre 1863 is really a beauty and hence I very much like the display back version. I am very happy with the exchange - what do you think?
Have a nice weekend!
