Many thanks!

I shot the "pod" with a (very old) iPhone, hand held. The short focal length on the iPhone (28-30mm equivalent on a 35mm SLR) helps with depth of field, but also yields the distortions you can see on the Time Pyramid. No light box, but shot with indirect lighting through closed sheer blinds on massive west-facing windows, in the morning (sun in the east). Counterintuitively, I believe that having the diffuse light source behind the subject helped eliminate glare. (Of course, a little A-R on those crystals and the matte finish on the Zenith case and the IWC caseband doesn't hurt, either.)

A lot of nice shots and also trying to get the photographers mindset while composing the pictures. Have a good week ahead too, Abel.

Thanks Richard!

This comes as quite a surprise. My personal favorite was Abel's Big Pilot shot and so many other great options to choose from. Maybe one day we can take the thegrailkid out on the boat to go see some whales together?!

Thank you so much dear Mike (Cazalea) for your great job hosting this week end and for choosing a wonderful Theme which brought so many awesome submissions from our members.

Also Thank you so much for sharing your experience with whales illustrated with all those amazing photographs. Have a great week ahead and stay safe together with your beloved ones dear Mike!! Best Abel

It's been great fun ... and really I think some of the contributions were made sheepishly

it's hard to explain the lunacy of a watch collector, isn't it? Even to one's self (not to mention the wife). Everytime I think of a "big watch" I remember this one, and "the next day" wondering what drugs I must have been on when I bought this... The doo...

Absolutely agree with you. Collecting involves a bit of madness, obsession and passion. These are ingredients which are not easy to explain to those who don´t suffer our...

WATCH of the WEEK Winners

 By: cazalea : April 26th, 2020-08:33
Like the other judges, I found this a magnificent challenge. I wanted to do the math of all the length x width x thickness x weight to come up with a mathematical whale, but quickly concluded there's no point in that. So I just went with my subjective opi...

Dear Mike… My thanks for this marvelous opportunity. And your winner a surprise! Yes, so much rarer in the white, and the detail phenomenal. Altogether
