WristScan

"All about the bass . . .

. . . not the treble."

Watch of the Week is all about the watch and not the image, unlike Static Photo and Wrist Scan, which are essentially beauty contests.  Judging WotW is a subjective exercise: which submission intrigues the most?

There were the usual suspects: vintage 1675s . . .

. . . like Matt's above, and Giles' tantalizingly obscure UN chronometer (below).

(Btw, Giles, nice multiple wrist shot - these are difficult to take.)

Then, there were unusual suspects.

Geo . . .

. . . KCKL . . .

. . . and Fernando . . .

. . . all took the side road.  And I would never have expected it from any of them!  (Well, maybe Fernando.)

"The total is more than the sum of the parts" award . . .

. . . goes to jporos.  Also tops for composition, but then, WotW is about the watch (or watches), and not the photo.  These three would make a good travel kit for a Bermuda vacation.

I'm pretty much out of following the latest editions from most manufacturers, and surprised to learn of what must be a relatively new Worldtimer from Patek.

(Thank you both, FRAMII and Julian, for bringing me up to date.)

Abel's modern GS GMT struck as a likely candidate for WotW given K's theme . . .

. . . and it might well have been my choice had it not been for the vintage Seiko travelers from matthewking . . .

. . . and Pierre.

It's a tie between matthewking and Pierre for first, with Geo, KCKL, and Fernando placing equally with their totally unexpected entries.

The '71 Italian Grand Prix . . .

. . . wasn't this close.
