How much of ‘you’ is in your watch?
One of the ugliest aspects of servicing watches is cleaning out the residual skin, oil, arm hairs and body lotion. If you’ve seen Jocke’s annual Rolex overhaul, you’ve seen the worst - grease and engine oil. But here’s a typical “civilian” deposit from my pal’s Rolex and Seiko - after an hour in the ultrasound for the two bracelets. 
Once it settles I can write notes to the owner (to justify my efforts). Thus Rolex + Seiko. 
Here I poured the cleaner fluid through a coffee filter to show my uncle how much gunk he was carrying around all day in his bracelet!
Now the watches are all shiny again, and I am kicking back with a fudge bar. (Yes I washed my hands first).

Well. these belonged to the owner's dad, so he's carrying a bit of his old man around, and that's ok
But you're right about used watches. I always change the strap and clean the bracelets and outside of the case when I get a used watch.
