QdI Tantalum 100 pcs made - to me this piece is an essence of a modern Vacheron Constantin - mix of metals palladium/tantalum, in-house movement 2460 QH , highest modern technology and the heritage blend are just amazing. This VC is my current favorite.

This limited edition of 35 pieces worldwide was made in 2007 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Cortina Watch in Singapore - a long time Vacheron Constantin retailer. The elusive watch boasts the in house movement by Vacheron Constantin caliber 2460 R31R7 which beats at 28,800 vph, has 27 jewels & an approximate Power Reserve of 43 hours. A real treasure... The Saltarello is cool, but, IMO, cannot compete with a Mercator.
But this is just my point of view, and the reflect of my indefective love for that watch... Biased? totally! And it is so good! Best, Nicolas.

Get both! If pressed, I agree with you, Nicolas, the Mercator is probably the one to get. It seems the more iconic example of VC's alternative time display watches. And I think the Saltarello is probably less to everyone's taste than the Mercator series. ...

i feel they do not belong as these pair are tribute to vintages. i view the malte chrono, though having art -decor fan lugs, as a more modern interpretation of a VC chrono, with a larger case and for the platinum model ,a beautifully finished blasted dial...
I concur... The Pt is outstanding. The dial is really something, and the
