whether you have it or not. Let's just have some fun!
QdI Tantalum 100 pcs made - to me this piece is an essence of a modern Vacheron Constantin - mix of metals palladium/tantalum, in-house movement 2460 QH , highest modern technology and the heritage blend are just amazing. This VC is my current favorite.

It is closely followed by a runner-up beauty: Patrimony Contemporaine Bi-Retro Cortina in PT/ruthenium dial 35 pcs made

This limited edition of 35 pieces worldwide was made in 2007 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Cortina Watch in Singapore - a long time Vacheron Constantin retailer. The elusive watch boasts the in house movement by Vacheron Constantin caliber 2460 R31R7 which beats at 28,800 vph, has 27 jewels & an approximate Power Reserve of 43 hours. A real treasure... Just look at the dial close-ups:

Thanks for watching!
Radek

Oh, I just read the "Vacheron" condition of your request! You already know my fascination with this pair of Observatory Chronometers...

Isn't that pair a bit too big on the wrist?
Best,
Nicolas, really curious to know.

1. Two that I own (but i am torn, as to me it is like children, and I love all of them - or I would not have bough them!)
2. Two from the past - that are affordable
3. Two from the past- that are not afforable (to me, that is!)
4. Two from the current collection, (that I could afford)

Only the pictures of my watches are my credit. All the others belong to various from the net.
Sorry for the long post, but this is a very dear subject to my heart.!!!!
Best,
Joe
the others show your tastes, very, very good indeed. I love the minute repeater which has the lugs "a la Historique Chronograph" what reference is it?
Kind regards
Francois
Which would pretty nicely sum VC Art in fine watches.
Just add a Mercator and we have exactly the same tastes.
Best,
Nicolas
But this is just my point of view, and the reflect of my indefective love for that watch...
Biased? totally! And it is so good!
Best,
Nicolas.
Get both!
If pressed, I agree with you, Nicolas, the Mercator is probably the one to get. It seems the more iconic example of VC's alternative time display watches. And I think the Saltarello is probably less to everyone's taste than the Mercator series. I love both models, however. The Saltarello is a bit funky, while the Mercator is poetic. I really, really, really hope to add at least one of these to my collection in future years. These are both at the very, or nearly the very, top of my wish list. Ah, but they seem elusive.
Best,
respo
I am with you. In my opinion, I like both jump hours, and I really want badly the white gold Saltarello, as I think it is really a beautiful look and totally different than anything else. I could have gotten last year the rose gold version, at a reasonable price, but I wanted the white. And, the Mercator is a third look, plus having that beautiful enamel. The German and the America pieces are outstanding, but only 10 each are out there, making it very tough. Then, I really like the other look of the four windows, which are on the pieces which have only been sold in sets of four, which is just not doable for me. I really loved the mask piece. Finally, there is the current Mercator which is another strategy of telling time, but I saw that one new and in the flesh last month, and the price was very high. Plus it was in yellow gold, and I really wanted a white metal.
In the end, if I could get the Mercator, platinum, Americas or Germany, plus the white gold Saltarello, I would be very,. very, happy.
Best,
Joe
i feel they do not belong as these pair are tribute to vintages.
i view the malte chrono, though having art -decor fan lugs, as a more modern interpretation of a VC chrono, with a larger case and for the platinum model ,a beautifully finished blasted dial.
though they do not belong , i would still consider acquiring it if i chance one in real and get really smitten by the blasted dial. for watches, never say never, i have learnt.
" PT 950 " wrtinig is not too visible... Unless my view is really going down.
Best,
Nicolas
PT 950 or not
