If they make this watch 40mm, it will not fit my wrist at all. Only watch at 40 mm that fits me perfectly is PP5970 . I don't mind the size of 5070 because it is meant to be BIG. Conceptually it works.

I would be happy with the platinum one as well.

but I have difficulty reading the time. And as for Salmon, I think I'm sick of this color appearing in every watch...haha. It has becomes like a gimmick.

did have a salmon dial and that was the original. Then Patek popularize it and every other brand also love salmon...haha. SO, I guess it is legot for VC to come out with a Salmon dial

It is very surprising that most watches are not this 'simple' anymore. For a modern watch, this piece has soul, which is rare bird nowadays.

This piece is not limited and will be very accessible as long you are willing to wait .

It is amazing to me how much the dial changes depending on the angle and the light. Sometimes the minutes track ring looks blue and sometimes silver. The rest fo the dial looks either gray or silver. I love the play that this dial gives. You have captured... 

when I ordered this piece without seeing it in metal first. I have always loved watches with silvery dial that changes with the environment lighting. Now, I can safely say that the dial is truly mesmerizing. A very nice daily wear.

perhaps a tiny-handful of watches I want. I have tried the Platinum and Rose Gold versions. I have never seen the SS version. Please share more pics of the dial and movement when possible. Wear it in the Best of Health, and May it Time only the Finest Mom... 

I absolutely love the details of the dial. This CdV in SS is on my wish list and I hope to be able to purchase one in the future. Just have other watches ahead of it at the moment so will need to remain patient. I believe this will become a modern icon al...

that your platinum version will be discontinued this year. It has been subtly starting to be reflected in the after market pricing. I do think all 1955 CDV chronograph should be limited to 36 pieces....haha ...  

This CDV 1955 has the modified lemania movement that's also used in Patek 5070, which I had owned long time ago. People tend to complain about small movement on big watch case but we rarely hear that about PP5070, which is the most iconic chronograph of m... 

You make important points, I couldn’t have said it better. I also love the PP 5070. For my smallish wrist, the CdV is perfect, and I like the fact that it is much less known than the 5070.

I am completely torn between buying the CDV (platinum) and a preowned 5170G (either black or white dial). Pricing is nearly identical. The 5070 is too big for my small wrist, hence my interest in the 5170. But I also love the CDV, which fits me perfectly.... 

A platinum piece or a Stainless Steel piece will always beat a white gold version. Imagine if Patek comes out a 5170 Stainless Steel, how much will that cost? I have tried 5170 for a long time and I keep trying to like them as I do love Breguet numerals. ... 

I think from the aesthetics side these are two very different watches. The CdV has more character with its distinctive, rounded lugs and vintage proportions. The PP 5170 is quite discreet and versatile, but imho has less personality. Both are made to a ve...

The Platinum CDV is very elegant and also very versatile. I love the blue lettering on the dial As for the Datograph, it comes in two sizes. Not sure which one did you try. The original version is same size as the CDV but thicker.
