Is this famous Metta Catharina russian leather? At least structure of leather looks like. Very nice strap.

You have very sharp eyes. It is Metta Catharina strap. I think these straps matches most white metal watches very well.

Don’t get me wrong, Your watch is stunning, but this strap is unique . Metta leather has so great history and is almost impossible to get anymore. Congratulations.

A good strap can make any watch stands out charmingly. That's why I also really love Gay Freres bracelet.

I love the VC 1942 calendar. I was hoping they were the 38mm in size when they first launched. I have a small wrist. I have seen it on others with bigger wrist and they look fantastic.

...on a cordovan strap. I have bigger wrists (7.25 inches), but I think with the shaped lugs and slim profile, it wears more like a 38 or 39mm diameter. Kind regards, Dan ...  

See how the watch fits your wrist so beautifully . What a charming dial, the lugs and the Cordovan strap is a perfect match! It will be very difficult to not keep staring at your watch. If you sit next to me in a restaurant, you will see me staring silly ...

Usually collectors are against restored vintage piece , even those done by the manufacturer. I'm indifferent towards this as long it is done by VC itself. Still, a better piece will be the one you have where you will start the history and it eventually wi... 

...this is how things were done in the past before the collector craze (and I still think a sympathetically-restored VC is better than the new ones). My only caveat is that they keep the dial original, unless it's absolutely destroyed. But I'm more of a h... 

I spend 3 hours trying to change the strap. So difficult to remove it. What a task!!! I can never be a watchmaker in my next life.
