I am looking for an accurate non quartz watch and the Chronometre Royal 86122 is both Geneva Seal and COSC Certified and in Pink Gold of 100 and asking $33,900 and is Automatic with the porcelain dial. The A. Lange and Sohne which is a watch company that I like better overall like Patek Philippe, has a Richard Lange Watch which I like, although it is a bit large I think. The Pink Gold Richard Lange Watch retails for $23,600 dollars, which is basically $10,300 less than the Chronometre Royal. This Chronometre Royal seems to have doubled in retail price from the last Chonometre Royal that Vacheron Constantin Produced. It is my understanding that after the 100 limited editions are sold of Vacheron Constantin Chronometre Royal that they will produce more watches with the only difference being that the 12 will be black like all the other numbers on the watch and not red for the first 100.
An extra $10,300 seems to be alot more money for a watch, than the Richard Lange in Rose Gold for $23,300, and is there really a difference between the two watches. I do hear that watches that have the COSC are the most accurate and close to 95% of the Geneva Seals go to Patek Philippe which I feel is the best watch company in most ways. I would think Patek Philippe would test their Chronometre Gondolo for the COSC which they don't and that A. Lange & Sohne would test their Richard Lange for Accuracy and Finishing in some sortof semi or official way. The Vacheron Constantin Chronometre Royal 86122 is the only current high end watch that has those two testing certificates, other than 4 of Patek Philippes Tourbillion Models that they produce.
Please give me any feedback and thoughts that you all may have to what questions and ideas I put forth? Thank You
