Just kidding, Nicolas. Words cannot describe my excitement on seeing this great presentation of an exceptional watch. What a great catch! You did well to jump on it. The Salmon dial is also my preference and to be perfectly honest I will even pick it over... 

and the photographs are spectacular. I just have a small correction: the platinum watch with the black dial was made in 25 examples for the Japanese market. One of them did belong to a collector based in Taiwan, which may be where the confusion comes in. ...

Notice, with the platinum case one gets 4 screws to fasten the case back to the case, here a snap back! A small detail... A classic chronograph, elegant & timeless. Congrats on getting that wonderful version, I love it. Cheers, Tim...

Another great find, 4 years ago... Indeed, the Salmon dial adds some Exclusivity, some Elegance and refunement to these 2 watches. But, IMO, the VC is a bit above, even more exclusive, and a bit more elegant. best! Nicolas

great post, ill have to admit i stopped reading and become mesmerized by the pictures... the pushers seem to be a different metal on your piece, are they different or just the pictures showing up odd on my laptop? that dial layout is superb, i was gawking... 

I do notice a version of VC chronograph bearing a pulsometer dial instead of the telemetric dial. Any data on how many Les Historiques" made with pulsometer dial? Larry

Very much enjoyable, and the photos are fantastic! I too have been longing for a 47101/47111. I am particularly interested in the YG for its timeless warmth, especially now in this cold season.

but I was offer the platinum chrono for about USD9000, this was about 4 years ago. Ouch. - SJX

I SOLD a PP 3970 for $38k four years ago, upon the advice of a PP market "expert" I sold an extra (ordered two to be sure I got at least one, didn't want to keep two) Lange 1815 Moonphase for $12k around the same time. Market prices over the past 4 years ... 

comparisons about chronographs. The pictures were 1st rate and the descriptions appeared very objective...great job. Like some others I am a little prejudiced as I own 2 of the historiques chronos and have the JLC Duometre on order, both great examples of... 

Owns the Black " Les Historiques " Chrono in platinum .. What is your 2d? May you post some nice pics of this Black? And of the other? I loved when you said that some of us are biased, as you, ...and me! LOLOL Biased or unbiased, I really think thaz this ... 

but have attached a couple of pictures of the platinum with the black dial. I also have the yellow gold with the silver dial just for contrast. I love chronographs and the Historique is right on the top of the list.I think the Lange 1815 chronograph is an...

as it is indeed a very nice find. Yes I can confirm that the platinum model with black guilloche dial is a LE of 25 pieces for Taiwan several years back, and it's quite a bargain judging from today's perspective. To me the VC chronograph is the sensible a...
