And was absolutely blown away! All the charm of Vacheron’s Traditionelle line with the added sophistication of a perfectly made Tourbillon and a dreamy minute repeater!
Is it expensive? Heck yes, but perfection usually is, and this is close to horological perfection as it comes in my mind. The relative simplicity of the design coupled with the perfectionism-oozing complication and other worldly movement make for an ultimate grail if this is your thing, and it certainly is mine!
My dealer offered me quite the “bargain” off the retail price, I asked him to hold it for a week while I contemplate the purchase. I would have to sell half of my collection and add something like 150k usd, so it’s no easy choice!
What are your thoughts? Always interested in hearing fellow WIS thoughts on an upcoming purchase!

That guilloche dial is icing on the cake
Sounds like you'd be left with a lange DS for chrono , and a bunch of other watches to fill the sports category. Do it! But another view would be, are you letting go of anything you'd regret or hard to replace if you have a change of heart? - Kevin

...probably my favorite dial/case from VC. Unfortunately my hearing is pretty terrible these days so the chiming would be lost on me. But what a beauty!

But I can’t decide if the very slightly off center dial creates a pleasing tension or is mildly frustrating. Does your lifestyle allow you to wear a delicate and fine piece like this often enough to forgo half of your collection?

I am sure you understand why I am so enamored with this piece since you saw it in person, the finishing quality on both the case and movement is unreal!
It’s a stunning combination of art and engineering. I completely understand how you could feel so smitten for this fine piece of high horology.
I suppose it’s all about what pieces you’re considering moving out of your collection. Ultimately it’s about how a watch makes you feel when it’s on your wrist. And only you can answer that. Best of luck!

Yes I think consolidating at this point would be more rewarding, at a certain point there are just too many watches to properly enjoy and connect with.
