Overseas - Rubber vs. Leather vs. Steel

Sep 08, 2018,23:58 PM

Three pictures with the three included straps. I like them all. What I didn‘t expect: I tend to wear the rubber strap on business outfits and the leather strap on casual outfits. (I wear the steel bracelet aswell, of course). Which one would be your favourite?

such a uniquely excellent watch that I truly cannot say either strap works better than the other. Visually of course . Thank you for the photos! Cheers, Filip

It looks really cool with the leather and rubber strap.

Very manly watch. What is the diameter of the case & model of this VC? Cheers! You wear it well. Geross.

Diameter is 41mm, but it wears a bit smaller than that, more like a 40mm.

The 41mm Royal Oak 15400 looks bigger in comparision.

For me - STEEL!

So good that they included them all in one package.

Looks like a pattern here.

New Cartier Santos and new Panerai use similar quick change systems. All Richemont brands.

I prefer the steel. [nt]

Steel, rubber, leather.

That is how I wear mine. But, I am really disappointed in the quality of the bracelet, had too many strange problems (then again, it could be just my dumb luck).

What kind of problems? [nt]

Let’s see.

First, the adjustment system on the bracelet keeps popping open. Even the slightest wrist movement would click it into wider position. Then, they fixed that but only for a while. So, I decided to just make it big enough while leaving it in the wider posit...

I take it back. Mine has the expansion system aswell. Had to use more force.

As you can see, it didn‘t widen itself yet on mine.

Not now, the watch is in the shop with the bracelet

Oh, that’s another annoyance. I had to leave the watch with the bracelet. Makes no sense when the interchangeable straps are a USP. But, just to clarify, it is a great watch and I love it dearly so I am not complaining, just telling my own experience.

How did they handle this problem

Did VC take care of the bracelet problem to your satisfaction?

Yes.

But the odd thing is that you have to send the whole watch for service, not just the bracelet. And that, to me, defeats the whole strap change thing.

Rubber

Hi. I tend to wear rubber the most but that’s partially because I live in an extremely hot climate

My only doubt and regret

Without standard lug we can't use Nato.

I always come back to steel on this one.......but....

I have the blue dial, but thinking of adding the black rubber.......and possibly another color in leather. I’m not crazy about the blue straps even with the blue dial.

Steel by far..........

The highlight of the Overseas line (like a Royal Oak) is the bracelet. Its very hard to top that look so much so that I probably wouldn't even use the rubber or leather straps if I owned that watch. It's a beauty btw! Tony

I love them all.

The 3 straps are all great. I love the contrast on the rubber & leather. But its always nice to have on steal.

All 3 and more

I am the happy owner of the chronometer version with the blue dial. Which strap I’m wearing most? All 3, choice between leather and rubber is mainly determined by the weather (hot and humid = rubber) and by activity (indoor airco = leather or steel, outsi...
