NWA π₯ π» Vacheron Constantin Tradionnelle ref. 82172
I am very excited to add this to my collection. If anyone has paid attention to my posts basically since Iβve joined here I have always loved vacheron and specifically this reference, the platinum traditionnelle (when I started liking it the official model was patrimony tradionnelle, since dichotomy to separate lines). Officially ref 82192/000P-9811 , this model is 38mm in platinum with manual wind cal. 4400/1
I have always loved the design of this ref. To me VC is all about case style, dial and hand design and top finishing. The size at 38mm x 7.7 mm fits just right. I like the grey dial with the platinum and altering grey intensities and the white railroad minute ring and lettering. So timeless. The Maltese cross logo I just am enamored with as well as these sharp dauphine hands with contrast sides (not sure if hands are wg or platinum?). The case appears nice and simple, but on edge there is a lovely claw style to the end of the lugs, the stepped case flank and the slight coin edge at its base. The movement really is great, 60hr PR, Geneva seal, a classic movement layout and a couple sharp angles. It does not have hacking ( something I have lost interest in as I donβt set watches to the second anymore ).
Some may recall, I have been looking for this reference since end of 2021,early 2022 when I contacted the boutique and they said they were out of inventory company wide. So saddened - I have been waiting for a platinum replacement from VC. I contacted them last week when I got excited and saw the release of the 270th version, but thanks to some videoes from a member here (what a great community ), I decided the dial treatment is not my aesthetic. Additionally on Thursday I saw this one come available , from November 2021, and figured itβs now or never.
I feel very blessed. My whole watch journey I have had two references I have really loved, the montblanc collection villeret vintage pulsographe, and the VC traditionnelle small seconds. Most people want pateks or Rolexes, but these odd ball references have really spoken to me. Having both now, Iβm thrilled. These were both released last decade, 2011 and 2013 respectively (iirc). Itβs Wild to have gotten one of them new and one from the very end of their production.
Sorry for the verbose post. I appreciate all the input I have gotten here. Although honestly both these references have very minimal presence and info online (although other version of this VC have articles present).
Thanks for reading,
Kevin
