The one question that you raise is with the comment that smaller wristed wearers will not be able to appreciate the tapered bracelet. What was the issue there?

You would think that there wasn’t any taper at all from the size. You wouldn’t appreciate it until you flipped your wrist over. It’s similar to my Alpine Eagle XPS, which only has a slight taper compared to the 222: ...
Still difficult. Supposedly, the wait list is a mile long at each boutique and they are only getting one or less per month.
I have placed my request in January 2025 and still waiting.
They were asking $59K USD!😬 It was still available on Friday . . .
They were arguing that it would be cheaper rather than going through a boutique. I responded that there were plenty of VC pieces I would want to own!
Exactly! It was still available when I visited at 2pm EDT on Friday!
Plus, one can easily tell it’s EWC by the rug!😉
There was a newer "unworn" one available elsewhere for $54k and it also sold at the same time...

Paying over retail will only encourage gray dealers to keep those higher asking prices alive.
I never buy over retail because the consumer fuels that market and I don't want to be part of it.
If you think this is a healthy premium, try an F.P. Journe Elegante for $175k.
I cannot even begin to understand what goes on in the minds of the people who are buying those.
That really is a very beautiful Vacheron Constantin 222.
But for me I much prefer the first and second generation of the Overseas to the 222, I had and I don't remember why I sold a Vacheron Constantin 42052/423A black military dial and I still miss it. Marc
