Great find on the gold version at Antiquorum
I'm not disputing the material published in World of Vacheron Constantin, only asking for clarification if you are stating that only one gold-cased piece was made and nothing in steel? For me it suggests that both steel and gold Taubert-cased watches were manufactured by V&C circa 1933 if the two articles from 2009 and 2012 can be reconciled. Alex would find it humorous that we are using his material to argue both sides! I will make a direct inquiry with VC and perhaps they can provide more "facts" ;-)

Not a prototype, it was for sale but I have no
idea on numbers produced. At the time VC was making only a handful of watches so I would expect this piece to be quite rare
For mi it looks more Girrad Perregaux than Genta (APRO+Nautilus) or Heysek (VC 222). But i think this is coincidentally.

Check this source ... So nothing 'obscure' about this watch at all. The only obscure thing is, it was not sold initially. The insight for the aficionados, I would recommend to get on highly alert if you encounter a steel version. Cheers.

The watch was in the Antiquorum auction in Geneva on 13th of November 1994. It is well known this auction was held by Antiquorum in cooperation with Vacheron & Constantin. Any of the watches in this auction came with certificates from the Vacheron Archive...
