I happen to like your original version the most. The bulky crown guards work well with the massive case, and I like the ovoid hands. The text doesn't overwhelm the dial, as was sometimes the case from watches of this era.
It will be interesting to revisit this particular Sonata in another 10, 20, and 30 years.

Another Oechslin creation I think. The thing I love about this watch is that the dial is so "welcoming". Somehow makes so many complications look not so complex.

I should have kept them all. I was a big UN fan back then. Sort of my favorite brand.
So many great designs. Not even counting the Freak and that 3 series of incredible collector pieces. Once Rolf Schneider died everything went downhill for a while.
Well then, perhaps i should visit my local AD at some point?
This is my 60th birthday this weekend. Damn, seems like only yesterday when he first posted the prototype/original Freak on TZ.
