Is it a sign of quality if you make your own tests and do not publish the results ....

... nor the test criteria? UN is not alone in this game, there are other brands as well. JLC was one of the first with its 1000 hours test that nodody knows what is really tested and how.
Unfortunately, the COSC chronometer test remains one of the very few test procedures which is well published in all detail and therefore watches undergoing this procedure can be really compared. The companys' tendency to hide information from their customers had started already when they discontinued to deliver the COSC chronometer certificates with their watches, but only the "small COSC" or even only a plastic card with "COSC rated chronometer" stamped on it.
