One half of me agrees with you 200%.

But I work in a dysfunctional team, partly due to some radically different personalities having similar roles and doing things in extremely different ways.  We recently used it as a classic exercise to help people understand the way other peoples' brains tick, and it was an eye opener for people who'd not done it before.   Even cynical old me was particularly struck by how well most of he types and their descriptions corresponded to my perceptions of the individuals.

Is it hard, proveable science?  No:  but then a lot of science isn't as hard and proveable as people would like to pretend, and certainly doesn't conform to the idyllic vision of scientific method.
