The cutting edge...
Looking at recent threads, the ‘knife’ thing seems to be a recurring theme and an interest for a number of contributors. Maybe we should know more about it.
For the edification of others, are the ‘knife-isti’ (should that be ‘cutleristi’?) inclined to give us a show and tell?
As a suggestion for any responses, it would be illuminating to know the answer to questions such as:

Has there been a schism between one branch and another (think Switzerland and Japan, mechanical and quartz…)?
What sparked your interest, and when?
What are the collectible themes?
Is there an acknowledged hierarchy or court family (a la Ace, King, Queen; PP, VC, GP; Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar – you get the drift)?
Who are the venerable or modern masters of the craft?
Is there a ‘Holy Grail’ of knife-collecting?
