Today started off a bit rocky when we went to walk in a long thin park on the mainland. Let's just say it didn't feel like a "safe neighborhood" to us, so we beat it over the bridge to Coronado, where a cacaphony of mowers and blowers momentarily discouraged us. We have had a few strikeouts in the past month, but I try to get at least a few nice images to share no matter where we are. San Diego area is not idyllic; there is plenty of homelessness due to climate, mental illness, drug use and permissive policies -- all parties agree on the problem but not on solutions.
But you guys don't come here to see that or hear our whining, so on with the walks!
I'll give you a few good/bad photos. This flower is very poisonous but still lovely.
The water can be less than clean when it rains and washes things into the bay. Luckily it almost never rains here.
It's a drag when you need a tow, no matter what the cause. But HOW COOL is this tow truck!
Hard luck to get caught, but after the photo he was thrown back in.
Even if life gets a bit prickly there's usually something sweet coming along soon.
Mike

Really love the bird pics, especially the hummingbirds. And the smiling lizard was spot on. What is interesting is the strong military presence in the same area as the water leisure activities, or so it seems.
Yes, we all share the bay
