"Do you think they did the car first, and named it second, or the other way around, etc, etc"
The Balboni edition has FEWER horsepower (not due to a design mandate to reduce horsepower, but rather a natural function of the powerband tweeking they wanted, supposedly based on, and I believe it, Valentino's stated preferences for drive train dynamics) than other Gallardo models;
It has two wheel rear drive when all recent Lambo's have 4WD;
It has a lower top end but handles and performs distinctly and differently up to the extremes than the other models. (I was told this, but I also felt it myself during more than once around the block test drives of various Gallardo models)
What do you think?
Me, as much as I dislike corporate kool aid, I am drinking from this pitcher voluntarily.
And yep, I do feel Lamborghini is a very different company, and a very different culture, than the other one that produces cars with the horsey on it...I'd be more cynical if the car and name (say, Forghieri) was from that "other" great house...
