All is well with me n family in Singapore. Been travelling again, or I should say, "having many
good time outs" lately ! (",)
I do love cars, though not to the fact that others naturally do. I don't drive. Means I'm driven.
But I love cars. I don't think that is contradicting , right?
I don't have to drive to like a car, I'm sure of that fact.
I like going to car manufacture as much as I like going to watch manufacture.
The whole experience is always refreshing, fun, exciting, with some high adrenaline along the way!

Unlike watches, cars are huge and you cannot wear it on your wrist. But it is also a machine.
I enjoy matching the watch(es) I'm wearing on driving trips with CH. Depending on what he drives
of course (",).

I like wearing a chronograph on driving trip. How about you?

I wish Singapore has exotic / sports car exhibitions like you have, that would be fun.
Do post some more pics soon!

Initially I was all excited about the possibility of watching Michael Schumacher during Singapore
F1 race, but now that he's not gonna participate, my excitement has gone down

Oooow, well... I believe it somehow already too much to talk about timepieces , complete with
the colourful wonders of watchworld! Complete with the storms and rainbows

Both CH and I love cars as much as watches..but as you know, we cannot strap a car on our wrists

So driving cars is all we could do. Driving around Germany, Southern France, Italy, Japan, etc. Or visiting
car manufactures! That's awesome. I love the smell of raw leather inside the tannery. I love the
slight hint of paint smell (a lot more than necessary would be giddying) inside the painting section..
(forgot the real name of that department) and to see the real humans along the assembly lines!
Mama mia! Nice to see Italian machines done up by Italian men...by hands..

Very different from going to and experiencing watch manufactures....
Exciting, too. Nice....in many different ways. In the ways how we like timepieces differently from
supercars..or supermachines..
Hard to explain, I believe you know exactly what I mean.

My perfect times are when I'm on driving trips with my dear husband, hear the roaring sounds of wild machine,
looking into time passes by at my fave timepiece companion, and reaching for my fave camera (from my fave bag) to take
beautiful sunset along the coast.. And stop along the way for delicious ice cream haha

Believe me, it will take forever talking about everything other than watches!
Sigh..

CH and I are superb! Hope you and family likewise, too!

Good to hear from you too! Just came back from a summer vacation with the family. It was very relaxing.

Wow, it is indeed good to have summer holiday. I wish I can say that, too, along with winter

Those prawns where eaten right after the Piaget trip in Geneva.
Three huge plates were all we could manage!

That Rolls-Royce is hilarious. Could anyone design a more awkward and inelegant quarter window/a-pillar surround? I won't even mention the colour!

 I don't mind 288's, at least they were interesting compared to the cooking models. But my favourite Group B car remains the Lancia 037.

Perversely, according to "Icon" the 'yellow' Rolls Royce featured in the movie of that name was originally a pale blue 1931 Phantom II Barker Sedanca de Ville, which MGM technicians covered with 20 coats of yellow paint!  Why not just use a yellow one? Why not leave it as was? Maybe a film named "The Pale Blue Rolls Royce" wouldn't have gone down so well at the box office.

The car itself is not so far from you, Art: as at last year, anyway, it was still owned by collector Neal Kirkham of Saratoga, California, winner at the 2005 Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance (who also took a second place in the Derby Bentley class at this year's Pebble Beach with a 1934  3.5 Litre DHC).

Whaddya mean, "Who asked?" ???

There were way more than 5!  I just couldn't capture them all since I don't have a ultrawide angle lens.

My attention was distracted by this (and its brethren) though -

 

Please DRMW, do you have any other photos of that car? I have to say, though it's not as extreme, I prefer BAT 9 of the Bertone cars. Don't even mention BAT 11. That is repulsive.

The RSV4 just got launched in Australia, I am attending the Melbourne event. I'll trade you photos!

They had many at the show.  Bertone?    I think you will like what I have and what we are working on.  Stay tuned!
