The only topper would be if he knocked on the door of my loft and set up there. I was already up stair in my loft sitting in the window looking down when he left through the front door...
That was the venue he played directly out of my window...I could step out and walk on the roof.

I only saw him play in an NBA arena, no presence. I used to study right down the street from his apartment, on Lafayette, but had no idea.
He was fantastic! So creative! A friend saw him walking around Soho once. I asked her how he was dressed. “Like a homeless person” she said. Classic!

He was well before my time, but in my time he was the outstanding artist among others, who were "only" musicians. There is a "David Bowie Straße" in Berlin.
