I never really "got" Bowie............
until after his passing and then began listening to, and watching what i could. on the man. Just a fantastic artist with quite a sideways view of what he wanted to provide. The musical Lazarus being one of those.
Also some seriously seriously good haircuts over his career.

I only saw him play in an NBA arena, no presence. I used to study right down the street from his apartment, on Lafayette, but had no idea.
He was fantastic! So creative! A friend saw him walking around Soho once. I asked her how he was dressed. “Like a homeless person” she said. Classic!

He was well before my time, but in my time he was the outstanding artist among others, who were "only" musicians. There is a "David Bowie Straße" in Berlin.
