In the beginning they were more a punk-avantgarde-rock-theater band
This was my perception in the early 90'ies.
I guess they settled in then as a rock band in the end.
Not my favourite rock band and music but some great songs, like "Scar tissue", "Give it a way", and some more songs rank them high.
Red Hot Chili Peppers is the best Rock Band, probably.
How can you say a Rock Band is the best? Easy... It is all about how they play, live. And here it is pretty spectacular. Have a look at this... The endless and amazing intro and the rest of the song. Crazy. Best, Nicolas
I have seen the....
lead guy Anthony Kiedis a couple of times walking around my neighborhood. He strikes such a unique visage it would be difficult for anyone to miss him. Cheers, Filip

I've seen them live once, with current members
I would have liked to have seen them with John Frusciante on guitar and backing vocals, as he was very good. Even John's solo work is very good
I never get tired of listening to / seeing Flea play his bass
And he seems to be a nice person also

Oh, Nicolas. There's only one band that deserves tribute . . .
. . . as the greatest of all time. No arguments, please. And yes, I've seen The Who. Great band, but for live performance . . . nobody beats the Stones. Not even Zep. And I worship them, too. ;-)
