The problem is, all of my music (at last count about 4,500 tracks) were all in low quality format, a collection built since the iPod first came out in 2002/3 if I remember correctly. To change that all is a big task, and not sure how to do it!!! Since maybe 1 year ago, I started making sure any new music I had was high quality, but it is a small percentage. So I listen to my older tracks on Tidal.
The problem I do have with Tidal is that there is no EQ on their platform. So while the music is very high quality, you can't tweak the trebles or bass to suit your own ears (and every has different preferences). I believe they are introducing it soon. The other problem is that you are 100% dependant on Tidal - if they ever shut down, get bought out, go bankrupt, then you are back to the beginning!! I believe the Spotify Extreme (320kbps) is also another hi quality streaming alternative, and 320kbps is good enough IMHO.
So ideally, I would have all of my music stored and owned by myself, but it is a long work in progress!
